“One thing man can’t create is time. But we can cheat a little. I enjoy making objects that evoke a sense of age and wear. I’m trying to develop glazing and decorating techniques that show the effects of time on the the piece of pottery. I hope my pots feel like they have been to places I can’t go. They attempt to bridge the gap between now and then. I am attracted to objects and forms from many cultures, oriental and occidental. I’m just beginning to scratch the surface.” –Jerry BarlowJerry lives in Turlock with his wife, Terree.
