Barbara Evans Barbour
Barbara became serious about photography in 1989. she took classes to increase her knowledge
in black and white, infrared and color photography. She helped at the Modesto Junior
College Photography Department by being a lab tech. There she helped students with
She took classes in drawing from Dan Peterson. This expanded her knowledge of composition,
color and perspective.
Barbara has shown her work in several galleries and exhibits. The Sonora “In Focus” show
has always been a favorite. She is a showing artist at the Ventana/Annex Galleries.
Barbara is using a digital camera as well as her medium format film camera. Her current focus is on landscapes. She loves shooting at the coast and in the Sierras. She is scanning her 120 negatives into photoshop, working with HDR and metallic glossy papers.
She makes her prints, both darkroom and digital, in her studio.
